» Family: {mother & father}Ohoyamatsumi, unknown Mother {spouse} Ninigi
» Played By: Boa Kwon
» Human Alias: Miho Cavanaugh [took surname upon arrival to NYC, found it by looking in a phone book and said "THAT is who I am"]
» Human Age: 24 [Born: April 1st]
» Ability: She has no ability to effect anyone however she has an uncanny ability to remain beautiful no matter what she's doing - bathed in sweat, dirty, bleeding or casual, she's beautiful. Shes been known to make people jealous by smiling.
» Occupation: Pro-Fighter\Trainer at a local martial arts dojo.

» History: She is the blossom princess and the symbol of delicate earthly life in Japan. She's known as the Cherry Blossom goddess as well as the goddess of Mount Fuji. She is the daughter of the mountain god Ohoyamatsumi. And is often known as the avatar of Japanese Life.

She met her husband on the seashore and fell in love with him. Ningi asked her father for her hand but her father tried to give him her older sister, Iwa-Naga. He reluctantly agreed after Ninigi said he was set on Kono-hana. It is said that because Ninigi refused Iwa-Naga, the rock-princess, that human lives are short and fleeting like the Cherry Blossom instead of long lasting and enduring as the stone.

In one myth, Kono-hana became pregnant in just one night, causing suspicion in Ninigi. He wondered if the child was his or another Kami's. Kono lost her temper with her husband and entered a doorless hut where she set fire to the place. She swore that the child would not be harmed if it was truly the offspring of the heavenly kami Ninigi. Kono birthed three songs, Hoderi, Hosuseri and Hoori. Who all survived unscathed.

Shrines have been built, at Mount Fuji, for the goddess Konohana Sakuya Hime as well.

» Reincarnations:
First: 1000 AD: a peasant farmer in Japan. No special occurrences however she dreamed of who she was, spoke to a priest, who believed she was the reincarnation of Kono-Hana-Sakuya-Hime.

Second: 1300 AD: Born the second daughter of a large family, she entered school to become a Geisha. No memory of prior incarnations.

Third: 1890 AD: Born in Europe to nobles. Discovered that she was a reincarnated deity via dreams.

Fourth, Current:
Abandoned by her mother and father in her infancy, Miho was raised by a local orphanage in Hong Kong. They were not the best caretakers, as she was a girl, and Miho got used to spending dinnerless evenings wandering the streets, searching for something to eat. Miho’s only diversion was roaming the streets and finding trouble. Disaffected and introverted from early on, she had no problem getting into trouble.

Upon entering her adolescence, Miho’s troubles took a turn for the worse. She was sold off as hard labor for a farm in the middle of nowhere and she was left to bear the brunt of men without a woman to care for them. And bear the brunt, she did. Miho soon became adept at the usual excuses wielded by victims of abuse, “I’m clumsy,” “I fell down,” “He only hits me when he’s drunk,” but she never once fell victim to the fallacy that she deserved it. Oh no, Miho was too smart for that.

She reached the age of thirteen with graceful ease, and she'd blossomed into a gorgeous flower among the waste lands around her. That only served to bring sexual abuse down upon her, adding that to the litany of other grievances she bore with a loving smile. She ran away – disappearing into the night as silent as a ghost and wrapped in shadows. She had no idea how she had managed it. She ran for days – eventually falling asleep on a temple’s stairs out of utter exhaustion. They took pity on the poor girl and brought her inside.

When she awoke she found out it was a training Monastery and she eagerly looked around and joined in. She blossomed under their care until she was 18 and she went with one of the visiting masters to the United States – he promised she’d love it and she fell in love the moment she landed in New York City. She adored the tall buildings, and while she missed the open fields and trees, she found the urban jungle made her happy too, there was beauty here.

By now she was turning out to be the kind of woman who could flash a smile and make men fall over their own two feet, the kind of woman with the "fuck me, right here right now, or lose it" attitude. She was the kind of girl you wanted on your side, be it for eye candy or a pair of strong fists when you needed them. Skin soft and smooth, like silk, eyes sparkling in honey hued tones, lips parting in such a sweet fashion offering the world. Body toned, inked, sensual.

An innocent lost in the world of men and ruffians. An illusion she easily learned to maintain, until she wanted you gone. Back to the famous line "Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee". She embraced this once she landed in New York City – finding it to give her the best. She stumbled upon a mixed martial arts school and dying for practice, joined. Within a year she’d become immersed in it, and while she studied during the night for her citizenship tests, she worked equally hard during the day for training. She joined a fight club, illicit in its habit of fighting out of sight of the trainers.

She took her turn, ignoring those watching her as she laughed and danced her way through the fights, it was fun for her. Something different than the strict upbringing the monks had imposed on her. For the first time in her young life, she was free. Miho took down all who came up against her that night, except one. Eyes watching him with wary caution as she nodded and started the fight. She'd never seen this one here and was going to do the usual to the new comer - beat him so bad he'd not bother her for a few weeks. However... this time the tables were turned on her. A few strokes before midnight she was on the ground, doubled up, bleeding from various wounds, aching from head to toe and feeling like a weak, powerless thing. She looked up at him, eyes wide. How in the nine hells did he take her down so fast and so hard? Apparently he'd been watching her fight, she felt somewhat, oddly, honored. Then he asked about the dreams.

She denied them adamantly - she never spoke to no one about her dreams. These dreams were vivid, real and oh so comfortable feeling. She has dreamed since she was a child – dreams of darkness, of time itself, of night. She never understood the Dreams - they were real, and tangible when she slept and she found herself longing for the beauty, for cherry trees and mountains. And the moment she admitted this, he told her what she dreamt was real then she was gone. Disappeared as she was being cared for. It freaked her out and she quit the illicit fights and focused on actually training to be fit and teach others.

Now, she's training for herself, fighting in neighboring states for pro fights, and enjoying life. She's balanced herself out and now enjoys the beautiful things in life while enjoying teaching classes. She's also begun to take better care of herself. Every now and then, she dreams of the man who came to her and told her that her dreams were a reality. She hopes she’ll see him again someday. Until, then, though, she'll embrace the fact that she may in fact be Kono-Hana and rediscover herself.

» Personality: How to describe Kono – you could truly write a novel on it. She can be sweet one minute, innocent another, then a total bitch a few minutes later. She’s a girl who’s been regulated to the sidelines of life – having risen up from being orphaned in Hong Kong, to being one of the brightest new names in the world of fighting – she’s got talent, skill and a drive. Some of this comes from the inner Kono - the Goddess is protective of her children and the Mountain after all. She's fiercely protective of her children - willing to walk through fire to protect them if she has to. She has no qualms with going to extremes for them, for while she's portrayed as the sweet, delicate flower, she's got a backbone. Kono can be seen as stubborn, in one myth arguing with another Goddess of another mountain. She can also be spiteful, when losing she can lose her temper and take it out in destructive fashions.

{Long, long ago Mt. Fuji and Mt. Yatsugatake were the highest mountains in Japan. The goddess of Mt. Fuji, Konohanasakuyahime, and the goddess of Mt. Yatsugatake, Oyamazumi began to argue and bicker.
"I'm the tallest mountain in Japan!"
"Oh no, I can see straight into your crater! I'm much higher than you!"
This fighting didn't seem to have an end until finally, an idea struck them: "Let's use water!"
Taking advantage of gravity, they placed a pipe full of water on the peaks of their respective mountains. When they opened both ends of the pipe, the water began to flow rapidly in the direction of Mt.Fuji! Oyamazumi squealed in delight, but Konohanasakuyahime was so enraged that she swept up a stick the size of Yamanashi prefecture and bashed Mt. Yatsugatake on the head over and over again. She hit it so many times, and with such force, that it broke into the eight peaks that it is named after today. } -

When it comes to those she respects and considers true friends, she’s apt to let loose and be herself. Thought she doesn’t let people see it, she can be quite bookish. She enjoys sprawling out with a good read, or focusing on Calligraphy. It’s calming, and rather zen. Kono is a goddess of cherry blossoms and finds herself feeling at ease amongst any flowering trees, and to some extent gardens. She draws comfort from Spring and early summer when life's at it's brightest. Nature is part of her and it truly makes her happy. She finds zen amongst it all, and is a great admirer of physical beauty - she has been called Shallow before and it's somewhat true. Her sister, the Rock Princess, is ugly, and she finds it somewhat distasteful - everyone should be beautiful like flowers are, after all.

Generally, however, KonoHana is sweet despite her incarnation being a fighter. She's polite, and genial, and always courteous to those who are her opponents. She can upturn her nose at non-beautiful things, preferring to enjoy beauty. You'll never see her in something not-fashionable, even in the ring. She's been called a temptress, someone willing to use her beauty to get what she wants, and it's true, she will. She's loyal, however, to her husband and since remembering who she is, she's not slept with anyone since. She hopes her husband will turn up, because she loves him dearly, as much as she loves her three sons. She can be fiery tempered, especially where her family is concerned or her honor, and she can be overly stubborn. She's no where near perfect but that's the charm, isn't it?

» Sample Journal: I have a promising batch of new students at the Dojo. I think that they shall be wonderful to teach. Now if I could just get the girls to understand you can still be beautiful while getting sweaty. It's very much possible! People think women who fight are all manly and gross, I'm sorry to tell you but that's just not true! I enjoy manicures, and facials, and fine clothing, too. I really enjoy them. It feels wonderful to go from the gym to something slinky and sexy, and knowing that I am comfortable in my own skin. Confidence is key, ladies, and really, take pride in who you are and work to look your best. okay so maybe if you're truly ugly, we'll find a way to fix that, because ugliness is just tragic

So. I got home to a lovely invite to this community. A pleasure, I think. My name's Miho Cavanaugh, born and somewhat raised in Hong Kong, but I feel NYC is my home. I'm also Konohanasakuya-hime, you may call me Konohana if you'd like.

What is your favorite flower?

» Sample Roleplay:
Kono sat wrapped in a towel in the locker room. Her manager had just told me she had a pro fight in a month and a half, and she wasn't sure how to handle that right now. She didn't think she was ready for the big leagues. But she put on a smile and pulled her long hair out of her eyes and looked at herself in the mirror. "You will do this." she said simply, in Mandarin, she always gave herself pep talks in Mandarin.

She pushed off the seat and ducked into the shower. She soaked up the hot water for a few minutes, just letting the hot water wash over her and strip away her tired thoughts. This was just not the night for being exhausted. It wouldn't do. Slender fingers reached out to turn the water off. She dried off and slipped into fresh clothes, nothing complicated, just jeans and a tank top and her flip flops. Kono smiled faintly and headed out of the dojo, waving lightly at those who lingered around.

Kono hit the streets and sauntered to the bar where she was meeting her friends. This was a night to celebrate and they were planning on celebrating hard. She slipped through the door and smiled. "Hi loves!" she beamed as she sat down at the table already overflowing with people. "Guess what? Guess who has a pro fight in less than two months? THIS CHICK." she grinned wickedly and ordered a round of sake for the table. She leaned back and smiled benevolently. She believed in enjoying life, and this was what life was all about, friends, fun and relaxing when you needed it. Who cared what tomorrow would bring when you were surrounded by friends who loved you?

Open house was a blast. Got to meet a lot of new clients, a few fans, and generally had fun. Now. I need to get back to training. But I really would prefer to teach. So anyone who wants some lessons let me know, like... I don't know now? Please? I feel like teaching and not so much training until I drop today.

I don't know why I am awake. I mean, I know. I went running at 5am. But normally I go back to sleep. I am very much not a morning person. I hate mornings. Hell, I dislike too much sunshine.

Anyways. Bei Sau MMA is having an open house today - anyone in Chicago can drop by from 9am to 5pm for free classes and to get information on MMA and stuff. Why did they have ME announce this? jerks I'll be there all day, so if you want to see me, drop by. I'll welcome the company.

Escaping into nights, I told myself
That I was not at all alone
But after all, it revealed
Nothing but my loneliness Day by day )
